The Colombian author, Gabriel Garcia Márquez, wrote this book in 1985, when he was in his “sabbatical year” soon after he won the Nobel Prize of Literature.

The romance is based on his family history (his father and mother relationship, probably).

What have called my attention in this book was that is a true and colorful story about a man who loved a women and waited her for almost 53 years.

During this period of time the main characthor paciently waited for the woman he loved since the first sight (when he was a kid, of course). The incredible story shows the power of love, the different way of loving someone and how is possible to love somebody for such long time without giving up.

After this long period, he finally could have an affair with the woman he loved, because her husband passed away – yes, she married a man during this long period of time (…)

It was very well written and shows details about one of the most beautiful romance that I have ever heard about. For this reason, I recommend reading it if you want to read a romantic book.

     It is a great thriller, one of those that get you hooked from the beggining to the end. The whole story happens during winter, and there is a great deal of snow. A great deal. What I liked most about the book is how the author is able, with her words, to convey the cold the characters actually feel along the trama.

It tells the story of a couple that is in the process of getting divorced, and go up to the little cabin in the mountain so he can finish collecting his belongings.

This book was whiten by Max Gerinher, he used be CEO and Chairman of important companies in Brazil like Pepsi. He is very funny and popular, in this book there are a lot of tales about how are the real corporate life. He could show me by a  comedy way how idiot we are in the work, and how to deal with other people so idiots as we are.  Now I can look by the corporate life by a funny way and don’t worry about stress and other stupids things that a used to. Now I look only for my results and the results of my team. Since I have read this book my carrear is really different, I could understand how simple the things really are. I was 19 when I read this book, it wasn’t the most important book that I have ever read but it was what most change my life. 

People who are my close friends, know that I like very much of history.

Acording to the Philosophy, History, in fact, is language. Language, on the other hand, is produced by humans, who have an interpretation on facts occured in the past. In fact, again, all things that are read, are interpretations of the facts.

One of my favourite books ”O Chalaça”, by José Roberto Torero”, it is a romance (fiction) that tells the history of the independence of Brazil.

Although it is a book of fiction, it is very interesting because it breaks the history spoken in the classes through the school books, using a comical approuch.  

I have always loved reading, so it is quite difficult to say which book I prefer most. Actually, I think that each book brings you new ideas, new people, new feelings… But for sure, one of the best books I have already read is Le Petit Nicolas.

The book is about a 8-years-old boy and his funny stories. Each chapiter is a chronicle and it tells about an episode of Nicolas’life. All the stories are so commom in a child’s life, but they are all so good that you can not stop laughing from the beginning to the end.

Also, even being so nice, the book made me few lighter and believing that no matter what happens, no matter how the adult’s responsabilities increase and no matter how I grow, I should always keep my “Nicolas side” in a deep part of my soul and smile to the simple (and no less wonderful) things that life can give to me.

I read this book many years ago, after I had watched the same movie. I decided to find out what more the book would show me.
It’s a beautiful history of a family in Chile since the childhood of Clara, passing thru her daughter’s live, Branca, till the adult life time of Alba, her grandaughter. There are love, war, passion, hate and everyting that a great romance must have. The author, Isabel Allende, made me perfectly image all the places, the characters and the fellings. Actually, I’ve read this book three times and I’m thinking about doing it one more time pretty soon.   

This is the best book I have ever read because it describes the human’s behavior in a peculiar way.

Nietzsche, the main character, and Doctor Breuer spend a long time analysing psychological sickness and how to cure it. Nevertheless, the sickness can be a normal human behavior in some cases, and it depends a lot on the environment each person live, and also their interpretation of it.

 I usually spend a lot of my time thinking about people’s behaviors and this book has been helping me to understand and learn why people act in one way or another. Some do not accept help when they need, or even believe that their problems have somehow helped them.

I believe it´s very worthy when you stop to think about “why” instead of only follow what is already known. 

The book tha most touched me until now I read when I was only 13 years old. “100 yers of solitude’ is a best-seller writen by Garcia Marquez, the story is about some generations of a family, but the most impressive for me it was the way the author drives the text, his narrative, the mix of fantasy and reality, and misterious enviromental. As a matter of fact, I think that this book was remarkable for me mostly because I read it too young, and it was very shocked for me, you know, I was a tennager being introducing at a fantastic story, this was really remarkable.

The first book ‘The Golden Compass’ (‘The Northern Lights’ in British English) didn’t really get me, but my friends kept telling me that the trilogy was awesome, so I continued… And they were right, just like the Harry Potter books where you follow the steps of a young wizard, in ‘His Dark Materials’ Trilogy we follow the steps of Lyra, a twelve-year-old girl with nothing in particular, except that she has a daemon and possibly the world’s future depends on her. Daemon (spirit in Latim) is like someone’s soul lived outside him and has the shape of an animal just like your personality. Phillip shows a complete new conception of world, life and death. ‘The Subtle Knife’, Phillip Pullman’s second book, continues the story but in a better mood and making each word grab you and make you want more…. Trilogy’s last book is ‘The Amber Spyglass’ comes telling everything you wanted to know from the previous books, but it’s totally necessary to have read them before. If you like fantasy and fiction that’s a good choice, and please read them in order!
